“We’re taking the space within we work and the people with who we work as the basis of how the work evolves. So, there’s no style in the western concept. The style comes from the space, the process, the limitation we have, the people who whom we work. So, it’s not me imposing something on the film. It’s the film emerging from those characteristics, those conditions. The film is not a style, it’s a predicament”

PORTFOLIO

TO ALL THOSE WAITING FOR LIFE TO HAPPEN

This is an indie short film following the life of a young adult who is navigating the pressures of societal expectations. As the world whirls around him in the backdrop of autumn and winter, he grapples with the weight of being someone and understanding where he fits in the world at such a young age. The film captures his journey through immersive shots of his surroundings, seamlessly interwoven with a contemplative voiceover. Through introspective narration, he questions the norms imposed by society, prompting viewers to reflect on their own experiences and expectations. Through the changing of seasons, the film delicately portrays his quest for identity and belonging. As he moves through an urban time, from bustling city streets to serene natural landscapes, each scene reflects the emotional landscape of his journey. Ultimately, this is a heartfelt exploration of self-discovery, inviting audiences to embrace the uncertainties of life and find solace in the beauty of the changing seasons, symbolizing the evolving nature of personal growth and finding one’s path in the world.

JUNCTION OF HEARTS

Junction of Hearts is a short film that experiments with lighting to create different moods through the story of two teen boys who are struggling in their relationship and are put to the test when a unexpected 3rd person arrives in the mix.

FINAL GIRLS

Final Girls took place on Tuesday, 14th May 2024, at the York Theatre Royal as a part of Takeover Week. As a group, we directed, cast ourselves, wrote a script and performed a show. Specifically me and my group were inspired by cheesy classic horror movies like Friday the 13th and the more supernatural side of horror, such as Paranormal Activity and The Blair Witch Project, a lot of these movies contain the classic character stereotypes, such as the nerd, jock etc, we started with this and developed our show. Final Girls is a multimedia performance set in a forest and a lab where a group of unlikely students do their best to survive.

YORK THEATRE ROYAL TAKEOVER

I’ve been part of the York St John Production Management team , working with the York Theatre Royal to create the Takeover festival. Takeover is a student-run event where different teams, such as marketing, wraparound, production managers, etc. Professionally run everything at the theatre for a week, from what shows go on stage to the drinks on the menu. My role was to make sure everything runs smoothly from backstage. For this my role consisted of rigging lights for shows, flyering, being lead Lx and Duty Stage Manager.
